Jerusalem Christian schools pause classes after Israel withholds entry permits for 70+ West Bank staff

Christian schools in Jerusalem suspended attendance on September 1, 2026 after Israeli authorities did not renew entry permits for more than 70 West Bank teachers and staff, according to a statement carried by the Custody of the Holy Land. Aid to the Church in Need reported the walkout affected more than 8,500 students and ended after one day when some permits were renewed for short windows. Church officials said full academic-year permits were still missing and that they would keep pressing Israeli authorities.

Survivor-led site lists 2,700+ Protestant leaders publicly accused of abuse or cover-up

ProtestantAccountability.org launched August 19, 2026 as a survivor-run archive of more than 2,700 publicly reported abuse and cover-up allegations across 100+ Protestant denominations, modeled on the Catholic-focused BishopAccountability.org. Organizers say they compile court records, news reports, and other public documents and do not run their own investigations; the site’s terms say listings are not determinations of guilt. Christianity Today and The Roys Report covered the launch; Southern Baptist leaders had voted in 2022 to build a denomination database that was later put on hold.

Nepal’s disaster authority reported 1,114 deaths, 3,916 people missing, and 11,993 rescued after the August 26 Bhotekoshi–Trishuli floods.
