UniteUS held its first South Florida event on the evening of Tuesday, Sept. 29, at the Watsco Center on the University of Miami's Coral Gables campus. The movement says hundreds of students "made the decision to go all in with Jesus" and were baptized afterward. The figure comes from the organizers' own social media posts, which CBN News, Crosswalk and Latin Post all quoted. None of those outlets gave a number beyond "hundreds," and FWB found no independent count.

"God marked the University of Miami tonight! Hundreds of students made the decision to go all in with Jesus and follow up with water baptism!" founder Tonya Prewett wrote on Instagram, CBN News reported. According to the movement's posts, students went outside after the service, where UniteUS leaders baptized them in water troughs while friends looked on. "People from so many different backgrounds and walks of life came together to worship Jesus," the official UniteUS account said.

Prewett preached alongside her daughter, author and speaker Madison Prewett Troutt, and son-in-law Grant Troutt, CBN reported. The JWALKERS worship collective led the music. The movement began with an event at Auburn University on Sept. 12, 2023, and UniteUS says it has since reached more than two dozen campuses and more than 100,000 students. Its fall schedule includes Appalachian State University in Boone, N.C., on Oct. 13 and the University of South Alabama in Mobile on Oct. 27.
