Nepal’s disaster authority reported 1,114 deaths, 3,916 people missing, and 11,993 rescued after the August 26 Bhotekoshi–Trishuli floods. Local pastors say churches were destroyed and members remain missing. Samaritan’s Purse has begun relief. Casualty figures were still changing, and church-specific losses had not been independently audited.

Nepal’s National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority reported 1,114 deaths, 3,916 people missing, and 11,993 rescued after flash floods struck the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli river systems on August 26, The Himalayan Times reported on September 2, 2026.
Local pastors have reported destroyed churches and missing members. Those church-specific loss accounts have not been independently audited.
Samaritan’s Purse said it began relief after the flooding. The organization reported that a cargo flight carrying emergency supplies arrived in Kathmandu on September 2, 2026.
